I used to have a Poppy icon for Remembrance day, but somewhere along the line I was unhappy with it so I deleted it. I've just re-made one, then I had the thought to include a bit of text. I'm not sure which I prefer, so I thought I would ask for feedback. The two icons are:

If you would like to see it with different text, I can do that too. Incidentally, if anyone wants to use these icons themselves, feel free. I'd appreciate credit for the design, but share the wealth.

I like the text but I think I'd like it better if it just said "Remember" or "Never forget"...

but I do like it as is, too.

We don't do poppies here. I read up on them in Wikipedia and I like the idea of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance. I like that better than the American flag that people in the U.S. wave about on Veterans Day. It's important to remember that we are not the only country who has lost souls in war. Sometimes we tend to forget that.

The poppy has particular significance to Canadians as the poem "In Flander's Fields" was written by a Canadian. I do agree that, as an international symbol, it is a nice choice.

Initially I had written "Remember", interestingly enough. "Never Forget" wasn't an idea that came to mind, but I do like it better than "I Remember". On the other hand, if the image holds up without text, that is my usual bias.

Or I could be traditional and use "Lest We Forget", which I should have remembered much earlier.
