Yesterday, Ross was asked if he could get any images of photographers using SLRs for a newspaper advertisement by one of the school's partners/sponsors, Advance Electronics. It was quite short notice but Ross asked the students around (including me) if we could send him a couple of suitable images right away. I happened to have some new ones for my photo essay, and sent him three. One of them was selected, and is the leader for a full-page ad in tomorrow's Sun. It's my first credit in print (aside from the brochures the school has produced) which makes me very happy. Given that I'm planning to do commercial photography, it's actually a great start for me.
In unrelated news, L's been bike shopping for a few days and finally picked up a nice replacement for her last bike. It's a beautiful time for riding, clear skies, pretty hot, not too much wind. Hopefully we'll be able to find/make the time to ride together over the summer.
Tomorrow is a small family gathering, my Great-Aunt is in town with one of her daughters ("the fun one"). They, along with my immediate family, will be going out to dinner at the Tavern in the Park. I'm looking forward to it, my Great-Aunt is a delightfully persnickity old lady. I've been seeing my family a fair bit lately, which is nice. Unfortunately I've spent relatively little time with the rest of my friends, a situation I need to remedy soon.
