I'm really happy with a lot of the pictures I took at the Winnipeg International Children's Festival on Friday. I'm a bit hesitant to post most of the images though, since they are primarily of kids and many of them are easy to recognize. I have a few that are both cool and safe to use though, including this one. Amazingly enough, I didn't have to manipulate the file to get the surreal reds; I did my usual workflow (levels, contrast curve, sharpening) but the image is essentially left as captured. I think I got just the timing, with the sun starting to break through cloud cover, plus just the right angle over the material of the costume.

The first one is my favourite too. I think the second one is good, but not as good as the first.
