First off, my wonderful partner has been expanding her private practice. She is a therapist specializing in marriage and family therapy and has recently had a bit of a transition in her business. She's set up in a new space and has launched a pair of websites to promote some new services she is offering, one geared towards marriage preparation and the other towards relationship enrichment. Both concepts are pretty simple; therapy shouldn't have a stigma attached to it, and couples working with a therapist at the start of their relationship (or when it is strong but still has room for improvement) will get much more out of the process than couples which are on their last legs and getting therapy out of desperation. I'm pretty impressed with the therapy model and I absolutely think it's valuable for any couple. Her practice is very inclusive and equally geared any combination and orientation of couples.
She's starting to put posters up and any assistance spreading the word would be greatly appreciated. If you have an idea for a place that would put up posters, please leave me a comment in this post.
Secondly, and on a more sober note, one of my best friends is shipping out to Afghanistan for a tour of duty. Regardless of your feelings and thoughts on the war, I would appreciate any good thoughts, prayers, wishes, or other energy for his safe return. I know I will be thinking about him a lot in the coming months.
